- Vanitha Nadaraj has been in journalism for the past 15 years, writing on topics ranging from politics, consumer issues, labour matters, social problems, motoring, nightlife and restaurant reviews. She is now a sub-editor at The Star, and was the KL correspondent for the Asia Calling programme for Jakarta-based KBR68H radio station. She has worked as a copywriter for an ad agency and has been in corporate communications. She will soon be leaving The Star to join Help University College as a journalism lecturer. She completed her MA in journalism at Ateneo de Manila University as a fellow of the German-based Konrad Adenauer Foundation. She has presented papers on media in Malaysia in conferences, and has had her academic work published in publications overseas. She now sits in a dialogue team on undocumented people in Malaysia under the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Kuala Lumpur. She has acted as a resource and contact person for Al-Jazeera on issues involving the undocumented people in Sabah.
